The "Italy: Flying Saints and Eucharistic Miracles" Catholic pilgrimage, led by Fr. Corey Bruns and Fr. Julio Barrera, offers a spiritually enriching journey focusing on mystical flying saints, like Padre Pio, and renowned Eucharistic miracles. The itinerary spans Rome, Lanciano (famed for its 8th-century miracle where bread and wine transformed into flesh and blood), San Giovanni Rotondo (shrine of St. Pio), Sorrento, Capri, Naples, and Cassino (home to Monte Cassino Abbey), before returning to Rome, with participants engaging in Masses, prayers, reflections, and guided visits amid Italy's scenic Amalfi Coast and historic sites to deepen Eucharistic devotion and faith.

Depart Nashville for an overnight transatlantic flight to Rome arriving the following day. Full meal service and on-flight entertainment provided.

Upon arrival at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport, pilgrims meet their English-speaking tour escort and board a private motor coach for the journey into the city, with a visit en route to celebrate Mass and pray at the tombs of the first martyrs of Rome in the Catacombs. After checking into the hotel for relaxation time, the day concludes with a welcome dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Vatican City for a general audience with Pope Leo XIV (if in residence), followed by a short visit to St. Peter’s Basilica, the greatest church in Christendom and the site of the Tomb of the Prince of the Apostles. Enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, embark on a guided tour of Rome, visiting the three major papal Basilicas of St. John Lateran (the Pope’s Cathedral and the Mother Church of all Catholic Churches) for the celebration of Mass, St. Mary Major (containing the relics of the Crib of Christ and tomb of Pope Francis), and St. Paul Outside the Walls. The rest of the afternoon is free before dinner on your own.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting your English-speaking local guide for a half-day tour of Rome. Begin at the Basilica of San Clemente, an extraordinary site revealing over two millennia of history. Continue past the Colosseum and Circo Massimo to the tranquil Basilica of Santa Sabina on the Aventine Hill, guided by a Dominican priest from Owensboro, Fr. Austin. Stroll through the picturesque Trastevere district to visit the Basilicas of San Crisogono and St. Cecilia, where Holy Mass will be celebrated. The afternoon is free to explore at your leisure before dinner on your own.

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your Tour Escort and depart through the scenic countryside of central Italy. Stop in Lanciano to visit the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle, where “flesh is real flesh and blood is real blood.” Enjoy lunch on your own before continuing south through Abruzzo and Apulia to San Giovanni Rotondo, the beloved home of St. Padre Pio. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and, if you wish, take a leisurely walk through the town before dinner at the hotel. Mass will be celebrated during the day.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting your escort in the lobby. Today is devoted to exploring the spiritual heart of Padre Pio’s home. Visit St. Pio’s friary, including his tomb, cell, confessional, and the St. Pio Shrine. Conclude the day with Holy Mass at the Tomb of St. Padre Pio, then return to the hotel for dinner.

After breakfast at the hotel, board your private motor coach and travel through the picturesque countryside of Apulia toward Sorrento. En route, stop in Pompeii for lunch on your own, followed by a guided tour of the ancient ruins—an extraordinary glimpse into Roman life preserved beneath the ashes of Mount Vesuvius since 79 AD. Continue to Sorrento, check in to your hotel, celebrate Mass and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, with dinner on your own.

After breakfast, take a scenic hydrofoil ride to the Isle of Capri for a guided tour of this jewel of the Bay of Naples. Discover the island’s many charms—from the lively Piazzetta and elegant Anacapri to breathtaking coastal views and ancient Roman ruins. Enjoy time to explore Capri’s picturesque streets, browse local shops, and have lunch on your own. Celebrate Mass before returning to the mainland and visit a family-run farm to watch traditional mozzarella making, sample local wine and limoncello, and savor fresh Italian flavors. The evening is free to enjoy Sorrento at your leisure, with dinner on your own.

After breakfast at the hotel, board your motor coach for a full-day tour of Naples, taking in the highlights from Capodimonte Hill to the seafront promenade, Castel Nuovo, the San Carlo Theatre, the Royal Palace, and Santa Lucia. In the afternoon, visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (Duomo di Napoli), a magnificent 13th-century church housing the Royal Chapel of San Gennaro and the revered relics of the city’s patron saint, for Mass. After the tour, return to your hotel in Sorrento to relax before dinner near the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, board your motor coach and depart Sorrento, traveling north through the scenic Campania region toward Rome. Along the way, visit the historic Benedictine Abbey of Montecassino for Mass, founded by St. Benedict in 529 and home to his Rule, which shaped Western monastic life. Both St. Benedict and his twin sister, St. Scholastica, are buried here. Montecassino stands as a symbol of faith and learning throughout the Middle Ages. Continue to Rome, check in to your hotel, and take some time to relax before gathering for a memorable Farewell Dinner near the hotel.

After breakfast, depart for the airport for the transatlantic flight back to the United States.
